I have an excellent opportunity for a Communication Officer to work for a major company based in Solihull.

6 Month Contract

Job Purpose:
Provide appropriate communication advice, support and resources to support the European Business Development team and Joint Venture partners in delivering their business objectives and key messages.

Key Account abilities:
*Under the direction of the Communications Manager, work with appropriate business contacts to understand their communications requirements and priorities
*Work with the business to plan and prioritise activity, clarify appropriate messages, arrange satisfaction and effectiveness measures and oversee the implementation of campaign activities.
*Work with communications teams in external partner organisations to ensure messages are aligned and delivered on a timely basis
*To maintain and implement rolling annual communications activity plan for European Business Development ensuring visibility across the projects to align communications where necessary.
*Manage the day to day relationship with external vendors and creative service providers to develop and implement effective communication solutions.
*Ensure all Online content for European Business Development is kept up to date and appropriate for audience
*Manage end to end process for all on site engagement meetings including team talk, knowledge share, breakfast briefing etc.
*Work closely with communications colleagues across National Grid to incorporate business wide messaging within Business Development communications plans and share best practice
*Deputise for the Communications Manager as required.

Knowledge & Experience Requirements:
*Educated to degree level with in-depth experience within business communication management.
*Previous experience within a communications role in a large organisation with a good appreciation of how internal communications can support employee engagement.
*Experience of providing content for a range of Online and offline communication channels, including newsletters, announcements, articles and press releases.
*Proven events management experience for small and large scale events an advantage.
*Proven ability to develop and implement employee communication plans and campaigns.
*In-depth, demonstrable knowledge and experience of all aspects of the internal communication mix, including research and measurement.
*Experience dealing with people at all levels of an organisation, including directors

*Superior interpersonal skills and demonstrably excellent standards of literacy
*Demonstrates the ability to identify and establish the communication needs of the directorate by digging deeper, asking probing questions and challenging initial responses.
*Creative and innovative skill-set and demonstrates ability to adapt the content and style of communication messages to appeal to their audience with the right messages in order to influence and generate needed business results
*Team player who is able to actively build and maintain strong working relationships at all levels within the designated business area
*Demonstrates the ability to be creative and receptive to change and is willing to change ideas and approaches based on differing needs of the business.
*Excellent organisational and consultancy skills - strong influence/negotiator, analytical and articulate
*Project management skills and knowledge
*Outstanding copy-writing skills with the ability to work collaboratively across the business, to assimilate complex information and to turn this into easily-understandable messages.
*Excellent PC skills, particularly in the use of Word, PowerPoint and of Graphics/Desk-top Publishing software.
