Description

Summary:
  • This position will be responsible for conducting gearbox system analyses (static, dynamic, and tolerance investigations) and using that analysis to guide transmission and axle gearing, bearing, and shafting designs and developmental testing.
  • The person in this role will also assist in using product iron test results or performing investigations to validate and improve our analysis techniques.
  • This position works in a team environment with system and component design and test staff to elevate our product quality and competitiveness through improved system analyses.
SKILLS:

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
  • Two to four years Engineering experience required.

Skills and Competencies:
  • Prior Drivetrain experience Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.
  • Team player and detail oriented.
  • Displays attributes of a critical thinker and leverages innovative ideas.
  • Advanced ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations.
  • Advanced ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer generated reports.
  • Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field.

Desired Skills:
  • Gearbox, transmission, or axle design or development experience
  • Experience with rotating component design and related finite element analysis techniques and software, such as ROMAX, CALYX, LDP, NASTRAN, ABAQUS, ANSYS, CAGE4WIN
  • Knowledge and experience with solid modelling/drawing tools such as Pro-E - Mechanical aptitude
