System Design Engineer x 2 - 18 month Contract

System Design Engineers are required for an 18 month contact to work on the implementation of mission systems. You will be required to ensure the overall system implementation is fit for purpose and meets all regulatory and corporate governance rules.

Location - Farnborough / Edinburgh
Rates - £TBC per day
Start Date - ASAP

Key Skills:

- Systems Engineering lifecycle
- Mission Systems / Combat Systems
- Knowledge of system design tools (DOORS & System Architect)
- Knowledge of interface specifications and management.
- Experience of system integration and trials.

Desirable Skills:

- Knowledge of COTS technology (hardware, software, virtualisation and networks).
- Awareness of security standards and safety standards
- First-rate report engineering and technical report writing skills.

Major Tasks and Activities:

- Participate in the maintenance, preparation and technical approval of Design Certificates.

- To witness and verify Acceptance activities on behalf of the Delegated Design Authority and the presentation of such evidence to the Test Group.

- To verify and approve Assurance activities on behalf of the Delegated Design Authority.

-Identification and management of issues critical to the realisation of the technical solution, that reduce risk and save time or cost.

- To represent the Mission System Design Authority in the resolution of technical issues arising on the platform and in the witnessing, gathering and approval of Acceptance evidence

You will be required to work on different sites for this role, so must be prepared to travel and work away from home for periods of time. Expenses may well be covered for this
