Description

Storage Engineer is required to join a household name and marquee employer in the advanced technology and systems space, operating at the forefront of critical systems in multiple sectors spanning defense, engineering and industry. As the Storage Engineer you will be responsible for the administering NAS/SAN tiered storage services and the D2D and D2D2T long term data protection/archive, and system virtualization and Windows and/or Linux systems. You will also have the opportunity to participate in design, development, implementation and operations of a new infrastructure project. Candidates who currently hold security clearance or have previously will hold an advantage for this contract.

Responsibilities:

- Support, maintain and continually improve SAN/NAS and virtualization infrastructure in a rapidly growing, geographically distributed environment

- Ensure the design and implementation of new or incremental infrastructure adheres to high availability and security standards.

- Document and train other staff members on the operation of storage services infrastructure.

- Perform Tier 2 and 3 incident management in the production storage environments.

- Assume ownership for production storage problems, work with other team members, developers, and third parties to identify and resolve root cause issues.

- Responsible for on call duty in rotating shift with other team members.

Candidate requirements:

- Experienced in SAN/NAS design, implementation and administration with focus on Netapp, Fabric MetroCluster, 7-Mode and Cluster Mode Data ONTAP, replication, multi-path, analytics, performance tuning and similar storage appliances.

- Expert knowledge in SAN/NAS multi-tier D2D and D2D2T design, build and administration with focus on Symantec NetBackup and Dell ML6000 Power Vault, and similar archive appliances.

- Excellent analytical, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

- Knowledge in virtualization design Hyper-V, VMWare, Linux/Red Hat or CentOS Operating Systems, and script writing a plus.

Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

My client is offering an initial 6 months contract on a very long term and greenfield project.
