Description

I am looking to hire Category/procurement manager for our public sector client.

Please note: Public sector experience is mandatory

Experience Required
Experience of procurement/category management within Construction and property sub category is essential for the strategy development role.

Experience in contract management of construction and property related frameworks

Well developed analytical, organisational and problem solving skills.

Excellent stakeholder management skills, including the ability to engage and influence in complex customer and supplier environments.

Strong numeracy skills with the ability to confidently handle numbers and/or undertake complex statistical analysis.

Proven Project Management skills.

Knowledge of the category management processes into deliverable business solutions and operational delivery outputs.

Commercial acumen with the ability to relate business strategy.

Excellent IT skills in a Microsoft windows environment including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project.

Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at a variety of levels including presentation skills.

Experience of procurement and construction related sub categories

Experience of undertaking/working in a project management environment and/or leading project work-streams.

Demonstrable experience of undertaking procurement tendering exercises, managing contractual arrangements and responsibilities for managing supplier performance.

Experience of researching markets, emerging trends and customer requirements; presenting conclusions and recommendations into a procurement strategy.

Experience of constructively challenging existing ways of doing things, looking for opportunities to improve service delivery and promote LEAN thinking and approaches to ensure a culture of continuous improvement.

Proven communication experience requiring the ability to provide/obtain information, seeking clarified detail, explain and implement policy and procedures.
