Mechanical Design Engineer -Edinburgh. Competitive Salary PackageProgressive Engineering have been tasked by one of our key account to assist in the recruitment of a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis in Edinburgh.
You will be joining a small but innovative engineering team that specialises in the design and manufacture of telecommunication equipment and will be reporting directly to the Engineering Director.
Day to day responsibilities include:
- Be responsible for design projects from design conception through to onsite testing and manufacturing
- Experience creating both 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD and inventor
- Carry out stress analysis
- Review as well as create procedures and aftermarket manuals
- Supervise subcontractor activity on the project
- As the team grows you will be involved in the developing and mentoring more junior engineers
Skills and experience required:
- Experience in design, fabrication and manufacturing environments of telecommunication equipment
- Proven track records within the defence, aerospace or telecommunication industries
- Strong experience in both 2D and 3D CAD programs
- Engineering degree or extensive experience within a similar role
