CAD Technician - 6 months Temporary Contract - 20th July 2015
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, proactive CAD Technician to join our team in Ashwood Way - Basingstoke on a 6 months Contract. As the successful candidate you will have to undertake accurate and precise construction drawings using 2D and 3D software for both pre-construction and operations, to allow the Ground Engineering business to demonstrate to customers our technical/engineering ability as well as allowing the Ground Engineering business to deliver projects more efficiently and profitably.
Key Requirements
Carry out 2D and 3D drawings to meet the needs of the business that includes:
- managing requests in a structured manner
- ensuring drawings are di dimensionally correct
- ensuring drawing are technically robust and are buildable
- liaising with individuals within the ground Engineering business to ensure the best solutions are produced
- ensuring all CAD work is carried out in compliance with the written standards and procedures and that all drawings are saved using the ground Engineering control systems
- adapting to clients drawing/document management protocols
- using BIM tools to review and present engineering solutions
- building relationships with customers ensuring that there is a clear understanding of their requirements
- supporting the delivery of the CSUK sustainability 2020 roadmap
Personal Qualities and Experience
- the successful candidate must have a recognised qualification in using 2D and 3D software and at least 3 years' experience in a similar role
- a good working knowledge of drawing standards such as BS1192:1 and an understanding of BIM process and tools
- must also have a good knowledge of piling operations and experience of piling techniques/designs
- must be able to interpret information received from Engineers and Consultants
- the individual should have a desire to continuously pursue innovation and development, with a focus on the customer and the ground engineering business
