Description:
  • This group concepts, models, analyzes, and demonstrates advanced machine concepts and drivetrain systems that may involve energy recovery and storage, electric drives, electric and hydraulic hybrids, continuously variable transmissions, axles, differentials, and the associated control theory.
  • This individual will support projects requiring component or system design, space claim analysis, test fixture design and build, or creation of machine configuration concepts.
Specific responsibilities:
  • Creation of Creo models - FEA analysis of parts and complex assemblies
  • Creation of 3D printed sample parts
  • Collaboration with component or product engineers for acceptable designs
  • Recommend actions to resolve design issues to achieve program objectives
  • Communicate regularly with team to ensure understanding of objectives and results
  • Communicate with extended team and stakeholders
  • Provide all necessary forms of knowledge transfer (FEAs, models, technical reports, etc.)
SKILLS:

Qualifications Required:
  • Candidate should have a BS or MS in engineering, preferably mechanical, and three to eight years of work experience.
  • Solid design and analysis skills. Strong analytical, innovation, communication, and teamwork skills will be required to work on new components and systems.
  • Proficiency with Creo.
  • 3 - 5 years of design and analysis experience excluding school projects.
Desired:
  • Desire a knowledge of drivetrain and machine systems, and clients machine applications.
  • Experience with analysis and modelling tools such as Creo, Simulate (Mechanica), DATK, Dynasty, Teamcenter Vis Mockup, or equivalent software tools.
