Role - SAP EPM Project Manager

Contract - 6 months (with view to extension)

Daily Rate - £450 - £550 per day

Location - Liverpool Street, Central London

Department

Finance Platform Programme (FPP) forms part of the wider IT function, which reports directly to the Global Head of IT. FPP works closely with management and the business (Finance in this case) to develop and embed new process and systems within the company.

Overview

Member of the programme leadership team with responsibility to manage through the design and delivery of all EPM application workstreams for the Finance Platform in including:

  • BPC Enhancements (already scheduled for Aug 2015)
  • Reporting BW/BObj (already in progress)
  • Profitability (subject to Reporting workstream completion)

There are approximately 16 people in the FPP2 project team, made up of Permanent staff, independent contractors and partner consultants.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for delivery of an end-to-end solution with associated detailed design documentation which meets the agreed level of functionality to deliver the Business Blueprint for the specified release
  • Build and project manage day-to-day execution of plan for Solution Build
  • Coordinate all delivery resources and ensure appropriate subject matter experts, analysts and system specialists are assigned to deliver solution
  • Work closely with PM to ensure design and delivery meet expectations
  • Advise and monitor quality of solution deliverables
  • Ensure design issues and options are clearly articulated and communicated in order to reach the right conclusion with demonstrable audit trail
  • Reporting of progress and cost against plan and RAID items on weekly/monthly basis
  • Ensure a robust and stable technical solution to allow continuous improvement solutions going forward
  • Ensure use of standard functionality where possible and challenge bespoke build requirements
  • Accountable for implementation of appropriate environment and client strategy, as well as configuration and landscape controls through the overall applications and technical platform
  • Monitor system performance, escalate issues to Infrastructure Project Manager for resolution
  • Support the development of training and end user documentation development for the release
  • Fully responsible for all phases of testing, including completion of scenario identification and test script preparation in line with business process scope, test execution, defect analysis and remediation
  • Support Business User Acceptance Testing preparation, execution, documentation and remediation
  • Support for transition and delivery of agreed service & support management capability (to be agreed)
    • Through Go Live, Post-Implementation and Warranty period, provide agreed 2nd/3rd line support activities and transition to Business as usual support team

Technical Skills

  • Full-life cycle project management of multiple SAP EPM (BI & PCM) implementations, across all core phases of an implementation - blueprint, realisation, final preparation and post-implementation support (essential)
  • Managing consulting resource from Strategic Implementation partner (essential)
  • SAP PCM experience (essential)
  • SAP BPC/BW/BObj Experience (desirable but not essential)
  • Management of "client side" obligations as part of overall solution delivery (essential)
  • Prince2 or PMI formal project management certification (essential)
  • Educated to degree level or holding a relevant professional qualification pref. Accountancy (desirable but not essential)

  • The ability to act under their own initiative and be able to influence a variety of stakeholders, including senior management, in order to achieve their objectives
  • A strong problem solving, analytical and objective approach to work
  • Previous financial services Operational experience, ideally in the Asset Management sector
