Description

Graphic Designer

My Manchester client is currently looking for an experienced Graphic Designer on an initial 4 month contract in their award-winning design studio.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work within a team to produce high-profile campaigns across a range of services and other organisations: from recruiting to highlighting their great online services.

Candidates will work in our award-winning design studio and will need to have the ability to back up their in-depth Photoshop expertise and excellent typographical skills with substantial experience.

Candidates will have access to top-of-the-range kit and the latest Adobe software to release their creativity.

Projects are frequently dropped on people quite suddenly, requiring quick turnarounds, so we are looking for people who can hit the ground running.

Experience:

Educated to HND level with specialist design-related qualification or demonstrable equivalent industry experience.

A thorough understanding of the production of print-ready artwork and repro across multiple print formats including colour profiling and PDF proofing.

An up to date, comprehensive knowledge of digital artwork techniques, including typesetting and image manipulation and retouching.

Considerable experience within a creative studio or similar environment.

Comprehensive working knowledge of industry standard Apple Mac design platforms and software including Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Flash and After Effects.

The ability to absorb, understand and quickly assimilate information and concepts.

The ability to communicate ideas effectively and concisely to team members and clients/customers.

The ability to work quickly with accuracy and to problem solve with a logical and analytical approach.

A thorough understanding of photography, typography and printing techniques.

Self-organisational skills, time-management and the ability to multi-task.

An eye for detail, creativity and design quality.

The ability to monitor targets and performance plans and take appropriate action as necessary.

Some experience of working within a large and complex organisation (private or public sector).

The ability to create artwork for print or digital from concepts created by a graphic designer and to be able to lead on campaigns, ensuring consistency on creative elements while ensuring that jobs are technically correct.

Along with your CV I'm looking for a portfolio of your work with a mixture of print, web and some animation, working across big campaigns, (special interest in Magazine and Brochure work examples).
