Description
As a Senior Electrical Engineer are responsible for all technical project activities associated with electrical plant between the onshore interface point with the TSO and the wind turbines, ie including the offshore transmission and wind farm electrical systems. Your role will include supporting our projects from the concept design stage, through procurement activities, detailed design, construction & commissioning and then into the operations phase.
Accountabilities:
- Developing concept designs and associated electrical layouts
- Develop technical specifications
- Responsibility for relevant technical aspects during the procurement process
- Monitoring compliance with specifications during the detailed design phase, actively supporting the design review and approval process
- Communicating risk to the Engineering and Package Managers and other relevant project stakeholders
- Expediting issues that arise during the project execution
- Coordination of regular technical meetings with suppliers
- Support the project certification process (as applicable)
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry best practice
- Ensure HSE&S considerations are fundamental inputs to the design process
- Participate in Design Safety Reviews (including constructability and operability)
- Assimilation of lessons learned from other relevant projects and communication of engineering lessons learned to future projects
Requirements:
- University degree level qualified (or equivalent level) in a relevant technical or engineering discipline.
- Experienced in Offshore Wind and/or large multi-contract projects
- Significant knowledge and experience of Electrical Plant - kV, - your focus will be on electrical plant/components and their associated physical arrangement
- Excellent communication, analytical and conceptual skills
- Strong coordination skills, highly motivated, confident and resourceful
- Commercially aware
