Contract Mechanical Design Engineer - Oil and Gas

My client who design and manufacture subsea Oil and Gas equipment, based in Cumbria, are searching for their next mechanical design engineer for a long term contract opportunity.

Bucking the current trend in the Oil and Gas market, my client are very busy due to consistent long term orders.

The role is to manage products already developed and deployed in the field and will include working on long term projects as well as trouble shooting immediate short term requirements.

Main duties will include:

- technical support to the field,
- addressing legacy design,
- 2D and 3D design,
- setting up FATs,
- design calculations

The ideal candidate will possess:

- a degree in a relevant mechanical subject,
- 3D CAD design skills, preferably Pro Engineer / Creo,
- experience designing Oil and Gas equipment
