Description

We are currently recruiting for a Category Manager contract to work in Liverpool.

This is a contract role paying up to £350-£450/d Ltd and is initially a contract to Dec 2015.

The Role:

*Lead creation and execution of designated category and sub-category strategies. (Sub-categories could include, but is not limited to, Learning & Development, occupational health and employee assistance, employee rewards and benefits programmes, permanent recruitment services and translation, interpretation and transcription services.
*Make a significant contribution to the continuous improvement of the category team's performance to customers (service, savings and spend).
*Build relationships of influence with senior customers. Leverage relationships to build support for and drive compliance to category strategy and SRM.
*Responsible for all commercial and contractual agreements within area of responsibility.
*Manage and coordinate initiatives to develop the category at a sub-category level, developing, coaching and guiding team members
*Act as a source of expert market knowledge, insight and advice to customers
*Contribute to the development of category-specific IP and best practice
*Accountable for the category spend and savings performance
* Support Category colleagues as requested by Senior Category Lead.
*Responsible for supplier and contract performance. Purpose Statement: Category Leads (CLs) will play a critical role in supporting and inputting to category strategy. CLs will take a lead role in the implementation of sub-category strategy.

Skills & Experience:

*Good knowledge of procurement which is relevant to the category. A high degree of market awareness, with demonstrable experience of innovative approaches to procuring services and of managing relationships with suppliers
*Ability to think broadly about end to end procurement and to optimize the end to end service within the category
*Ability to influence senior stakeholders. An excellent communicator, with consultative selling skills and the gravitas to build credible peer relationships with decision makers.
*Excellent business judgement and a highly effective negotiator.
*Technical proficiency with specific category area; sufficient to act as an intelligent customer in dealings with suppliers and sufficient to engage in meaningful, challenging conversations with customers.
*Solution orientation - looks for opportunities and finds new ways of overcoming problems.. Able to implement strategy. Able to translate sub-category strategy into practical implementation plans.. Educated to degree level or equivalent (preferred)
*MCIPS qualified (preferred).

*BPSS + Disclosure Scotland clearance will be required for these role* (We will provide this)
