Description
1 x Electrical Engineer contractor with experience of onshore (or offshore) windfarms is needed to join the UK engineering team of a leading renewable energy company.Reporting into the UK Electrical Engineering Manager, you will provide specialist electrical engineering support across our client's UK Onshore Wind business including the Development, Construction and Operational phases of various projects. To take on the role you need relevant electrical experience and preferably will be familiar with wind farms and wind turbines, as well as a project delivery focus.
As an Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for:
- Design and development of transmission and distribution grid connections
- Design and development of project electrical infrastructure
- Mitigating compliance risk (legal, regulatory and technical)
- DNO and NGET stakeholder management
- Production of technical specifications for wind turbine procurement, balance of plant contracts and independent grid connections
- Project engineering support to construction projects
- Internal and external stakeholder management
are:
- A degree in a recognised electrical discipline or equivalent experience
- Experience of an electrical engineering environment
- Experience and knowledge of electrical apparatus, equipment and technology
- Experience and knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, standards and industry best practice
- Experience in the use of electrical simulation software (eg IPSA, Power factory Dig Silent)
- General wind turbine engineering understanding along with a technical appreciation of wind farm design and technical risks.
- A project delivery and value adding customer focus.
- Experience in internal customer engagement and task management
- Good interfacing skills suitable to communicating complex information at all levels.
- Good problem solving skills and ability to analyse technical data
- Commercial and contractual awareness
