Description

Communications Manager is required by HSBC's Global Standards Programme.

Global Standards are responsible for implementing the highest or most effective standards for Financial Crime Compliance across HSBC.

This role is part of the Global Standards (GS) communications structure - the team responsible for leading and driving global employee and other stakeholder communications to support the Global Standards programme.

Role purpose;

The role holder will work closely with the Head of FCC Risk Transformation to evaluate communications for key audience groups and to define an improved communications approach and plan for FCC change programme communications. Provides guidance on and delivers communications for the targeted groups to support the successful continued implementation of all FCC related change. The role holder will collaborate with Communications colleagues and FCC leaders globally to ensure targeted, consistent, effective communications.

  • Work as part of the GS global communications team to implement FCC change communications within the GS programme.
  • FCC change communications:
  • Define GS FCC change audience groupings and review current status of communications.
  • Evaluate communications effectiveness and propose improvements.
  • Define measures to evaluate communications success.
  • Develop and implement a communications approach based on the evaluation and insights.
  • Deliver tactical communications pieces such as the writing and managing of updates, leadership communication events (townhalls) published articles and other dialogue based communication activities.
  • Manage all FCC Risk Transformation communications content and ensure alignment to wider FCC and Global Standards messages.
  • Deliver high quality, effective employee and stakeholder communications for FCC Risk Transformation- which meet the GS communications strategy and GS programme objectives.

  • Immediate team: GS, Risk & FCC Communications
  • GS FCC Risk Transformation Programme Head and extended programme leadership team
  • Communications leaders and network

Suitable candidates must have the following skills & experience:

  • Internal communications experience and technical communications skills.
  • Experience in an employee or wider communications role, ideally in Risk and in Banking or another Financial Institution.
  • Compliance/Regulatory experience (AML, KYC, Financial Crime, Dodd-Frank, EMIR, Volker, BASEL, BCBS239, MiFID, FATCA, CDOT, Conduct Risk, etc).
  • Proven track record in developing, managing and implementing employee communication plans translating into solid and practical delivery of communications.
  • A solid understanding of change communications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, strategic planning and project management skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to work confidently and effectively with senior stakeholders across teams, geographies and cultures.
  • Experience of managing a wide range of internal stakeholder relationships including by Matrix and virtually.
