Description

Electrical Design Engineer urgently required for a contract in the South of England.

The Engineer is required to enable the Design Organisation to design and certify avionic systems and installations for Military and Civil customers.

Key responsibilities and duties:
* Review and understanding of customer modification requirements to produce avionic system architectures, scheme designs and installation drawings
* Conduct of Engineering reviews such as PDR and CDR, both internally and with the external customer
* Production of drawings in accordance with the Design Organisation procedures
* Liaison with Maintenance Production to resolve queries encountered during the installation of avionic systems

Essential skills required:
* Clear and concise technical and program communication skills
* Performing all activity in line with company procedures
* Interpersonal skills with staff in many departments across the business units
* Understanding, recording and analysing avionic engineering data and requirements to determine the most appropriate solution

Essential technical skills:
* Experience and use of AutoCAD software to produce wiring diagrams, cable assemblies and production drawings following design office processes and procedures
* Aircraft avionic and capability modification design in the Rotorcraft domain
* Use of MoD and civil technical standards and specifications
* Technical experience with Rotorcraft in the production/maintenance environment
* Electrical material and component selection.
* Methodical approach to the design process.
* Knowledge/experience of electrical manufacturing and routing processes.
* Conduct surveys.
* Understanding of document & drawing control.

Desirable skills:
* Experience and use of Inventor software (routed systems) to produce electrical installation and routing models and diagrams
* Experience with avionic modifications in the fixed wing domain
* Direct liaison with Technical customers

Professional Qualifications/Education and Training:
* Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent) to HNC Level 5
* Degree qualification in Aerospace or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) preferable
* Rotorcraft type training courses preferable
* At least 5 years experience in the Aerospace/Rotorcraft design field, either military or civil. Applicable aerospace engineering experience in the test and production environments is also highly desirable.
