ELEMENT DESCRIPTION
PURPOSE OF JOB:
To ensure that all activities and equipment on the installation site meet all applicable company Safety, Health and Environmental procedures and to drive the Company's commitment to Everyone going home safe every day.

To perform setting to work and site-commissioning activities.
To ensure work is completed to meet the project's programme.
To report to the Site Manager/Commissioning Manager.
To liaise with the project team to ensure commissioning activities meet the needs of the programme.

ELEMENT DESCRIPTION

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
*To ensure your own safety and the safety of others at all times by working to the Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental policies.

*To proactively report unsafe conditions, unsafe acts and near misses and to become part of the extra ordinary safety culture and help promote the "Home Safe everyday campaign."

*Ensure that all works and equipment on sites are tested to a plan and commissioned to meet Statutory and Client requirements and all relevant documentation is completed.

*To support the Commissioning manager/Commissioning Lead and participate as required in dealings with Project Management, the client, other contractors and subcontractors involved in the installation and commissioning of equipment.

*Ensure all personnel involved in commissioning tests are provided with the information, equipment, tools/services and are SQEP to perform their roles.

*To accept plant from installation teams in safe and acceptable states prior to setting to work and commissioning activities. Carry out Point of Work Risk Assessment.

*To advise the Commissioning manager/Commissioning Lead on work pack progress to a completed state for handover to clients or other bodies.

*To work with the Commissioning Manager/Commissioning Lead and design engineers to perform site commissioning and test activities, to ensure these activities are executed in a safe and timely way and meet the agreed project quality plan.

*Advise the Commissioning Manager/Commissioning Lead of any technical or programme issues as they arise.

*Advise the Commissioning Manager/Commissioning Lead of the risks to the project handover schedule and ensure that they are covered effectively.

*Be pro-active in recovering problem situations

ELEMENT DESCRIPTION

*Create and resolve Technical Queries as required.

*Liaise with design engineers to ensure that information is correct at work-pack hand over, manage software on site, and control test record data.

*Participate in lessons learned meetings for all completed work packs, ensuring that issues found during commissioning are resolved.

*Assist with installation proposals and cost estimates used in the compilation of work breakdown structures.

*Be part of the Team. Encourage good communications.

*Perform "hands on" commissioning engineer duties - setting to work, testing, commissioning, fault finding etc.

*Perform other duties as considered appropriate by the
Installations and Facility's Management.

KEY ACTIVITIES:
*Support and encourage a pro-active health and safety culture
*Monitor and review progress against the agreed programme.
*Prepare ATPs (Authorisation To Proceed) applications, Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
*Accept handover of installed plant prior to setting to work and commissioning.
*Supervise and assist design engineers working on site.
*Produce Shift Reports.
*Attend or chair meetings as required.
*Assist with Estimates To Complete (ETCs)
CORE COMPETENCIES:
Qualifications.
*HNC or degree in a related engineering discipline.
*CSCS
*IOSH

Experience.
Experience of the following is required: -
*Plant equipment setting to work and control system commissioning
*Use of the MS Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
ELEMENT DESCRIPTION
*PLC based control systems - typically Siemens/S5,S7, Schneider/Modicon, Rockwell/AB - including the use of appropriate programming packages.
*Electrical installation knowledge.
*Electrical drive setting to work and configuration, including Microprocessor controlled drives.
*Use electrical, network (ASi/ProfiBUS) and system test tools.
*Working within an ISO 9001 environment.
*Change management (on site software) control.
*Test supervision and result management.
*Production of completion documentation for handover to client.
