Quality Manager Requirement - 12 Month contract - CH16 6ER

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, proactive Quality Manager to join our team in Capenhurst, Chester. As the successful candidate you will need to provide Business Stream leadership and expertise in the area of Quality specifically to ensure the systems in place are properly executed throughout the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • ensuring that the process, training and measures are in place to ensure that the customer specification is delivered right first time
  • ensuring business compliance with the Business Management System (BMS)
  • ensuring appropriate training
  • undertaking assurance that the BMS is being followed and that requirements are being met
  • working with the Technical Services Manager to support development of Quality strategy and plans and implementation of measurement framework throughout design, construction, commission & handover to performance in use
  • interacting with external auditing governing bodies to maintain existing certification and continuous improvement
  • provide quality performance measures
  • advising/support Work Winning teams on quality input for the work winning process
  • producing quality reports for Engineering Construction business
  • support the delivery of EC business stream quality programs and actions
  • working with the business to contextualise the Continuous Improvement process for business streams, and delivery units
  • supporting to coach & develop quality skills in business streams
  • supporting establishment of continuous improvement culture
  • undertaking specific investigations and/or report on quality related issues as required

PERSONAL QUALITIES AND EXPERIENCE

  • the ability to provide leadership to resources through a Matrix structure
  • building strong relationships with customers, supply chain, delivery teams and project managers
  • substantial practical experience in quality management
  • the ability to coach and develop staff in key quality management skills and build a quality management framework & KPI measurement
  • has an ability to gather, analyse and evaluate facts
  • pays attention to details see things through to completion
  • has good interpersonal and communication skills and acts in an independent and professional

The following qualities/experience is desirable:

  • Knowledge of the construction industry or experience within a project based organisation
  • Previous experience of managing a team will be an advantage
