IT Scheduler



A global leading biopharmaceutical client requires an IT/Automation Programme Scheduler to join the Project Management team and support the client’s biologics programme.



Location:             Dublin, Ireland 



Start:                   September 2015



Duration:             Initial 12 month contract (min. 3 years’ work)



Reporting to:       IT/Automation Programme Manager 



Department:        Biologics Network Strategy - Project Engineering



PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION



- The IT/Automation Programme Scheduler (IT Scheduler) will provide essential scheduling support to the work stream project managers (PMs) and maintain the integrated IT/Automation schedule.



- He/she will also ensure that IT/Automation schedules are integrated with the overall project schedules for design, construction and commissioning. 



The IT Scheduler will report to the IT/Automation Programme Manager (IT PM).



PERMANENT OR CONTRACT      



Contract Position – Project timing Q3/Q4 2015 to Q2/Q3 2018.



The individual will be part of the client’s Project Management Services organisation, assigned to support the Biologics (LSCC) programme.



MAJOR DUTIES AND RESONSI-BILITIES  



1.            Provide scheduling support to all PMs and the IT PM.



2.            Maintain the integrated programme schedule.



3.            Ensure that the IT and Automation Project schedules are fully aligned with the overall project schedules for design, construction and commissioning.



4.            Where time permits, and where requested to do so by the IT PM, provide support for other program/project activities, such as planning (e.g. development of charters), cost control and status reporting.



KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS



•             An appropriate third level qualification.



•             At least 3 years’ experience in a Project Manager or Scheduler role in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry



•             Expert level user of Microsoft Project.



•             High level of competence using other Microsoft Office tools particularly SharePoint, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.



•             Ability to keep work pace and meet deadlines.



•             Good organising and planning skills.



•             Good communication skills. Problem solver with a focus on achievement of overall project goals.



CONTACTS         



Works closely with the IT PM, IT/Automation project PMs and IT Administration. 



Works with the PMs and Schedulers responsible for the overall project schedules for design, construction and commissioning.  Less frequent contact with the IT/Automation Director, HR, Finance, Vendors and other areas/departments.



WORKING CONDITIONS              



Working primarily in Dublin. 



Willing to work irregular hours on occasion, weekends and holidays dependent on business needs. Working on a large construction site in and around buildings under construction, both indoors and outside, working safely and properly using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).



DECISION MAKING



Take action, final decision, recommend, identifies and reports any project or personal challenges to the IT PM, recommending and implementing corrective actions or improvements.



Immediately reports schedule slippage to the relevant PMs and IT PM.



SUPERVISION RECEIVED              



Limited supervision. Work is reviewed and measured based on meeting the requirements of the role.



SUPERVISION EXERCISED            



None.
