Description
Summary:- The Systems Engineer - Video Surveillance shall be responsible for designing and implementing complex video surveillance solutions including, Video Management Systems, PSIMs, IP Surveillance Cameras, IP Networks, DVR's, Servers, Workstations, Storage, hardwired and fiber communication systems, and RF wireless communications.
- Work with sales, operations and project managers, to complete site walk-throughs to determine specific client needs and scope.
- Develop and maintain engineering designs, diagrams, and bill of materials.
- Assist with proposal generation.
- Accurately estimate project engineering time effort.
- Provide technical support and advice to PM and Installation teams.
- Create project specific install plans, scope documents, and test plans.
- Configure, integrate, and troubleshoot equipment as required; provides support and assistance to third parties for sub-contracted activities.
- Act as external liaison for customers' general contractors, sub-contractors and trades people as needed during the implementation and support phases.
- Provide customer and peer training.
- Delivering professional presentations.
Basic Qualifications:
- Technical Bachelors degree (Engineering, IT, Computer Science, etc) or Bachelors degree with equivalent technical work experience
- Experience 0 - 3 years
- Design and/or Implementation experience in one or more of the following areas
. Video surveillance systems
. IP Networking
. Wireless RF networking systems
. Fiber optic networks
. System Engineering
. Solution Architecture - Experience in one or more of the following areas are beneficial
. Construction
. Project Management
Beneficial Skills:
- Strong organization, project management and communication skills
- Field experience in designing and implementing camera surveillance and/or IP network systems.
- Working knowledge or certification for one or more top VMS applications in the market Genetec, OnSSI, Milestone, Exacq, Verint etc
- Working knowledge or certification from one or more cameras manufactures Axis, Sony, Pelco, Samsung, or Panasonic etc.
- Experience designing, implementing, troubleshooting IP Networks
- RF System Design
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Visio
- Experience with CAD, Wireshark, Windows Server, MSSQL
- CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent
- 1-3 years of experience ideal.
- Engineering Degree, Ideal CS, EE, etc..
- Military background might substitute degree
- 50% office 50% Field
