Job Summary:
- Responsible for client analysis related items and related reporting requirements as outlined in the contract.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide analytical and administrative support to the Retail Energy Services group.
- Understand the energy economics of all assigned client facilities. This includes the review/understanding of all applicable tariffs/summaries, special contracts, supply sources and available transmission lines and electricity distribution systems and other energy infrastructure systems as directed by the contract.
- Oversee system data integrity for all assigned clients.
- Review and input data from clients' invoices into specific Excel spreadsheets or other systems as deemed necessary to create client specific reports
- Obtain, analyze and compile information from local, state and federal agencies.
- Support New Client Orientation and set-up as required with appropriate departments, data vendors and utilities.
- Develop and maintain client reports including but not limited to price tracker, budget forecast reports, savings reports and corporate summary.
- Lead reconciliation, approval and where possible, submit for payment to appropriate parties, utility and/or supply invoices as well as resolving all billing discrepancies with utility/supplier on behalf of the client.
- Coordinate with assigned Client Executive(s) to establish a calendar for providing report delivery dates each month.
- Perform all analytical and tactical tasks as outlined in the client's contract and/or as assigned by Client Executive, Manager, Director or Executive.
- Maintain open relationship with all facility level personnel and obtain up-to-date changes in facility operations, production and consumption.
- Where applicable, perform request for proposal process to ensure client is utilizing the best supplier both operationally and economically.
- Obtain clients' meter readings, if available, consumption spreadsheets and all other linked reports.
- Communicate to clients and internal departments as required.
- Lead tariff rate analysis for client facilities to ensure client is on correct EDC rate or service.
- Work effectively to proactively develop savings ideas or efficiency improvements for all assigned clients.
- Lend support to departmental projects or initiatives,
- Lend support on projects sold to both assigned and unassigned clients as directed.
Competencies:
- Required - Bachelor of Arts or Science degree, preferably in business, finance, engineering or mathematics, or equivalent business experience.
- Required - Minimum of 2 years of energy experience relating to electricity.
Knowledge:
- General understanding of electricity industry including financial products, pricing, and physical infrastructure.
- Basic understanding of business principles and practices.
- Can calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and volume and can apply these concepts to practical situations.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft office products including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail plus demonstrated abilities in problem solving and independent decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and emails.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, colleagues and clients.
