Naval Architect - With knowledge of submarine manoeuvring and submerged operations
A Naval Architect with knowledge of submarine manoeuvring and submerged operations is required to work on a twelve month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our Defence client based in Cumbria.
Overview of the Principal Engineer contract role
You will be expected to undertake a review of the surfaced manoeuvring performance of the submarine when transiting through Barrow channel, and undertake an independent review of the safe manoeuvring envelope. Also you will act as a panel reviewer for active vehicle control design review.
Key skills required for the Principal Engineer
- Extensive knowledge of submarine manoeuvring
- Knowledge of manoeuvring down Barrow channel
- Extensive knowledge of submarine submerged operations
- Development of manoeuvring envelopes
- Mathematical modelling of submarine dynamics
- Degree in naval architecture
The role is based in Barrow in Furness, Cumbria - commutable from Carnforth, Milnthorpe, Lancaster, Morecambe, Penrith, Workington, Whitehaven and The Lake District
