Job Title: Project Engineer/Service Design Engineer
Location: Bristol, UK
Contract: 6 months (with possible Extension)
Rate: £365 per day
Talk me through the core responsibilities/objectives of this role?
The Project Engineer is responsible for providing support to the Systems Design Authority through the SDA Manager and Enterprise Architect (EA) in controlling service design and managing continuous service improvement and change initiatives.
Specific role responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Service design, support and coordination: Assist the SDA and other specialist technical resources in the service design and the development of service design strategy.
- Stakeholder engagement: Represent the SDA in the agreement and implementation of service design with the SOA and communication of plans with the stakeholder community.
- Service Catalogue management: Responsible for the organisation and collection of any related services that can be performed by, for, or within an enterprise.
- Service Level management: Assists the SDA in all aspects of the service - scope, quality responsibilities. Facilitate between the service provider and the service user.
- Availability management: Support the SDA and client in the management of availability, reliability, testability and maintainability.
- Knowledge management: Responsible for the process of capturing, developing, sharing and effectively using organisational knowledge management.
- Capacity management: Assist the SDA in ensuring that IT capacity meets current and future business requirements in a cost-effective manner in accordance with the ITIL framework.
- IT service continuity management: In association with stakeholders, responsible for continuity of services.
- Information Security management: In association with SDA and SAC, implement and maintain a coherent set of policies, processes and systems to manage risks to its information assets, thus ensuring acceptable levels of security risk.
- Supplier management: Support the SDA Head in the management of suppliers.
- Risk management: Support the SDA Manager with a risk management process to ensure all service design and technical risk events are identified, documented and proactively managed

The post holder must be self-motivated, a team player, and have good communication skills and the ability to lead on their areas of responsibility in a challenging project environment
Specialist accreditation:
- HNC in an electronic/telecoms engineering discipline, or relevant experience
