ILS Engineer - Supportability, Maintenance

An ILS Engineer with Supportability and Maintenance skills/experience is required to work on a six month contract with the possibility of extension for our Defence client based in Telford.

Overview of the ILS Engineer contract role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Prepare Service Modification Schedules - a detailed set of instructions that include the following:
  • How to modify equipment in the field.
  • Installation, set up and test.
  • Details of the installation items (Mod Kit contents) spares/consumables and S&TE required.
  • Maintenance instructions.
  • Operating instructions.
  • Undertake Ease of Modification/Installation/Maintenance Assessments to determine at which ES line modification/installation or maintenance should take place.
  • Ranging and scaling of spares.
  • Obsolescence Management; from drawings etc., identify item suppliers and determine their obsolescence status.
  • Preparation and submission of Support Engineering/ILS reports to the CV UK CVR(T) ESM.

Key skills required for the ILS Engineer

  • Knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to interpret Engineering Drawings and Bills of Materials, and liaise with Engineers, shop floor (Operations) staff and suppliers.

The role is based in Telford, Shropshire - commutable from Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth, Stourbridge, Wolverhampton, Walsall, Lichfield, Cannock, Stafford, Market Drayton, Whitchurch and Oswestry
