Description

  • Identifies business needs, business process improvement opportunities, business process pain points and bring systemic solutions by delivering technical solutions (primarily SAP configuration) – Involved in a major SAP revamping project, from initiation to delivery and subsequent maintenance mode.
    • Possesses expertise in finance management and processes, as well as an in-depth understanding of the IT systems (primarily SAP) and capabilities.
    • Has a thorough understanding of the business finance processes and flows, to enable the analysis of business requirements, to understand their strengths, weaknesses and pain points, to determine opportunities to increase efficiency of processes and functions, and to develop solutions for the business functions.
    • Performs functional analysis, requirements definition and relevant SAP module configuration and testing.
    • Responsible for conducting prototypes, developing functional specifications, data mapping, function mapping, setting of configuration tables and setting of transaction/control tables.
    • Assists in the business process (re-)design and documentation as needed so as to ensure alignment with technology.
    • Involved in security/authorization set-up, user documentation, data interface design, data migration and reconciliation.
    • Involved in the installation and tuning of modification, as well as archiving data.
    • Light programming skills in the appropriate language to develop necessary workarounds.
  • The SAP configurer is expected to work in an organized and structured manner, in project mode
    • Responsible for overall coordination, status reporting and stability of project oriented work efforts.
    • Uses project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet the business expectations.
    • Responsible for assembling project plans and teamwork assignments, monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, performing quality review; and escalating functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately.
    • Responsible for tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans to meet the project objectives.
    • Coordinates communication with all areas of the enterprise that impacts the scope, budget and risk of the work effort being performed.
    • Must possess knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies and tools, and change management techniques.
    • Manages one or more cross-functional projects of medium to high complexity.
  • The position is moderately supervised. It requires, though, frequent interaction / coordination with the SAP program manager and peers on other areas of SAP.
    • It is a full time position
    • Occasional travel may be needed.
    • Flexibility is needed within working hours.
    • Provides support to the user community
    • Works on multiple functional tasks / projects that tend to be of medium technological complexity.
    • Identifies and recommends functional and technological solutions.
    • Acts as a subject matter expert for SAP FI / SAP CO functional area.
    • May coach more junior technical staff.
    • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Business Administration - Or equivalent work experience.
    • Typically has 5 years of relevant work experience
    • Project Management certification or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum is a plus.
    • Knowledge of SAP Business Suite 4 HANA, “Simple Finance” suite, new General Ledger are required
    • Knowledge of SAP security, SAP GRC, segregation of duties is considered a plus
    • Knowledge in BPM and ARIS software is considered a plus
