An excellent opportunity for a Design Engineer to join a world leader who specialise in complete life-cycle power solutions for the marine and energy market. My client is offering an 18 month fixed term contract.
My client has an exciting opportunity within their Seals and Bearings site based in Havant. Their established Design Engineering Team are responsible for the creation of drawings, bill of materials, and technical data in support of our entire product portfolio. This position will be offered as an 18 month fixed term contract.
The main function of this role will be to review and understand technical information, create and check technical solutions to appropriate level, communicate both internally and externally and ensure KPI's are achieved.
Applicants will be required to use SolidEdge CAD system to produce 2D and 3D models, Microsoft office software to produce calculations, technical reports and presentations, to a level that can be given or presented to our internal and external customers.
In addition a good knowledge of material mechanical / physical properties and a basic knowledge of the interaction of materials in a submerged environment are required.
The ideal candidate must be capable of working and carrying out their assigned workload within a dedicated team. In addition the Engineer may be required to support our products at technical meetings with customers, which may involve international travel at short notice.
The Design Engineer must be educated to degree level (or equivalent) within an Engineering discipline.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate good communication skills and also have a working knowledge of CAD (2D/3D) and Microsoft Office.
