Description:
Anticipate key business, marketplace and competitor dynamics in developing and implementing strategies to optimize business results which include retention and growth targets while mitigating risk.

Primary focus is on establishing the appropriate rate and conditions of offering to achieve revenue, membership and margin goals.

Additionally, processes and policies are managed to support optimal customer service while collaborating with Sales/Account Management partners to optimize business opportunities and effective solutions.

Will review files, review checklists, run rates.
Essential Functions:

1. Prioritizing and validating prospect submissions generated by sales
2. Data entry into excel (for new business rating)
3. E-file set up
Establish effective business relationships with Sales
Produce accurate quotes in compliance with Underwriting & authority guidelines and state & federal laws for existing and prospective business.
Adhere to business processes and policies that support for all job levels particularly in areas of rate actions, benefit structure, customer engagements, etc.
Meets established department turn around goals by balancing deadlines.
Comply with new and existing policies, procedures, and methodologies.
Comply with continuous quality improvement programs.
Strategize with internal customers on implications of decisions on business outcomes.
Assist in positioning Underwriting as an integral partner in the creation of effective business solutions.
Establish relationships with Sales/Account Management to understand business potential with purchasers, brokers & consultants.
Develop solutions that establish credibility with Sales/Account Management and external customers.
Acquire and exhibit knowledge of the external business environment to add value.

Requirements:

Minimum 1-2 years experience, or recent college graduate.
Bachelor's Degree is highly preferred or HS diploma with equivalent experience is Required.

Underwriting Experience preferred
1. Proficient in Excel, working knowledge of Word
2. General computer Skills
3. Organization skills
4. Communication skills (written and verbal)
5. A highly motivated individual interested in learning about the health care industry.
6. Ability to learn quickly and experience producing high quality work in short periods of time.
7. Analytical and detail oriented.

9. Aptitude to perform data and process analytics and formulating solutions
10. Proven ability to build effective working relationships as well as strong interpersonal skills.
