Description

Digital Trends is an online technology magazine that covers all forms of electronics from the latest iPhone to 3D Printing. It has a monthly readership of 20 million people and is among the most popular technology websites in the United States.

We're seeking an experienced freelance writer with a passion for computing. This is a per-assignment gig, but it could become a consistent, long-term working relationship. The writer chosen will be responsible for feature articles and news posts about trending computing topics, including interviews and opinion pieces based on current trends.

Candidates will need to be broadly available throughout the work week during normal North American business hours, and should be able to produce two to three short word) news posts during that time. News posts also must be turned around quickly, within about an hour of being assigned.

Previous writing experience does not have to be in the field of consumer technology, but that is of course a plus. Broad knowledge of current PC hardware and computing trends is a must. Familiarity with WordPress is required.

Compensation is on a per-assignment basis and is negotiable based on experience.

Please, don't send any generic CVs or pitches, your candidature will be immediately rejected. Instead, answer the following questions:

1. Give us a link to your own blog (if you have one)
2. Give us links to a few of your (guest) posts on SEO/Marketing (no other topic!)
3. Tell us what are your favourite SEO/Marketing blogs that you read regularly?
4. Pick a few posts from blog.linkody.com and give us your honest opinion about them.
5. Send us at least 3 post suggestions that are not already covered by the blog.
