Regional Sales Manager

Job Purpose:

To maximise sales through the recruitment of new FSB Members by providing direction and leadership to the self employed Membership Recruiters within the region whilst delivering improved standards of recruiter results through field accompaniment, training and coaching

Key Areas of Accountability:

Sales Team Management

  • Achieve and exceed sales unit, revenue, man-day and productivity targets
  • Monitor the results delivered by the Membership Recruiters during field visits & feed observations back
  • To deal appropriately with those who fail to deliver to the minimum performance required
  • Deliver improved standards of quality, audit compliance & sales ability within the team of Membership Recruiters. Implementing all compliance issues notably FSA, Data Protection and Financial crime

Motivation, Guidance and Training

  • Through regular 1:1 meetings, identify training needs including knowledge of member benefits and policy/lobbying activity
  • Ensure training interventions are delivered appropriately and recorded on a register of training activities to be kept on file at head office.
  • Coaching across the self employed team to achieve acceptable levels of monthly and annual productivity
  • To hold regular team meetings to share best practise

Sales Reporting

  • To support the Head of Sales develop and implement a strategy to maximise the sales revenue of the FSB
  • To establish and maintain appropriate systems of monitoring sales performance

Business Development/Marketing

  • To gather market information and share this with the Member Services management team to ensure the FSB offering remains competitive within the marketplace
  • To contribute to the lead generation process and to ensure that all leads passed to the team are followed up, enhancing the professional image of the FSB
  • To work closely with the relevant regional teams to participate in events that are aimed at raising the profile of the FSB with the potential to recruit new members
  • To create greater awareness of FSB activities, services and benefits by working closely with the relevant regional teams to promoting these locally amongst the members and wider business communities
  • To ensure feedback attained by the sales team is fed back to the ead of HHead of Sales.


To undertake other duties commensurate with the level of the post and as directed by the appropriate line manager.

    • Membership of a professional body e.g. CIM

Experience

  • Recruiting and leading a commission-only team of self employed Sales Agents
  • Achieving results through influencing and persuading without direct authority
  • Sales negotiation
  • Business to Business sales including lead generation and appointment making
  • Procedural and Audit compliance
    • Working within a small business environment
    • Working from home

Working in a membership organisation/representative body

Knowledge

  • An understanding of and empathy with the issues faced by the small business sector
  • Multi product sales and related sales strategies

Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong influencing and listening skills

Specific requirements

This role requires the post holder to:

Be willing and able to undertake regular travel throughout the UK requiring evening and occasional weekend work.

You are required to have a full valid UK driving licence.

Have the facility to work from home (equipment provided for business use) in dedicated office space:

  • Your home base must be located in an appropriate geographical area for the work undertaken by this role
  • Your home base must have the space and surroundings for you to carry out FSB work in a safe manner
