Vacancy for a Senior / Lead Design EngineerThe Role
A permanent position working in the Special Fabrications Department and reporting to the Lead Design Manager
? To work as an integral member and to provide support to the existing Design Team and Team Leader
? Production of Technical Specifications
? Writing of design reports
? Validation of designs via FEA or hand calculations such as Thermal Calculations, Structural Analysis, Pressure Drop and Acoustic Calculations and Stress Analysis
? Carrying out Design Risk Assessments
? Ability to generate initial concept designs
? Ability to interpret customer requirements and work within relevant standards / specifications
? Produce all required 3D Models for various fabrications
? Generation of all required General Arrangement and Detail drawings to be used for fabrication and installation purposes using Autodesk Inventor / Solidworks and AutoCAD
The Candidate
? Enthusiastic experienced Design Engineer with minimum of 5 years' experience working on steel fabrications
? The ability to work as part of a team and to work independently when necessary
? Preferably Degree qualified in a suitable Engineering discipline or alternatively a minimum of HND
? Experience of working with various standards and specifications (ASME Section III, Section VIII and PD5500)
? Experience in carrying out CFD analysis would be a distinct advantage
? Experience of fabrications used within the Nuclear Industry would be a distinct advantage
? Use of Microsoft Office, Autodesk Inventor / Solidworks and AutoCAD software is essential
? Experience in LEAN Manufacturing techniques would be advantageous
? Security clearance preferable but not essential
Salary will be dependent on experience and suitability.
