Group Technical Manager - 6 Month ContractI am currently working with a Global Food Manufacturing company who are recruiting for an interim Group Technical Manager to start a 6 month contract, within the next 4 weeks.
This is a field based role, with home based working on offer. You will be traveling across the UK to sites in London, Midlands and South West to conduct site audits, and manage and lead the technical department.
You will have 8 direct reports, (consisting of 2 Tech Support Managers, 2 Technical Account Managers, 4 site Technical Managers) therefore a strong leadership background is essential. Someone with experience of managing multiple sites across multiple departments would be highly beneficial, as would a candidate with direct dairy experience.
Some key duties will include;
- To measure compliance against defined corporate and customer policies, Quality, Food Safety and product specifications through independent audit, continuously improving standards across the site.
- Liaising with the relevant Account Manager to assist with NPD regarding the final development approval and launch of new products or the development of existing products
- Serving as a contact between Customers and the Company.
- Facilitate the implementation of Quality Standards by ensuring the necessary training and support is made available to all functional areas.
- Identify the top and bottom 10% of technicians and recognise great performance and agree improvement plans for under performers.
- To also share your passion and enthusiasm for delivering a great maintenance service, and manage and prioritise a busy workload making difficult decisions based on what is right for customers. You have the ability to respond to and resolve immediate problems.
Essential skills;
- 5 to 10 years Senior Technical background
- BRC, PPC
- High care and chilled food experience
- Leading retailer experience
- Strong Management background
