Position: Storage Engineer
Location: Madrid, Spain
Job Type: Contract - 1 year (rolling)

Role & Responsibilities
Responsibilities:

Oversee and monitor the correct operation of storage systems by means of a correct identification and implementation of event-alarms that ensure established service-level requirements, taking both proactive and reactive corrective measures to minimize impact on customers.
Manage and provide technical support ensuring the correct resolution and restoration of service ensuring the correct documentation and closing of incidents or requests for service, always in accordance with established procedures.
The activities of monitoring and management of the availability, capacity and performance oriented to efficient provision of the service, implementing a proactive service management, identifying, recording problems, and establishing action plans to systematically eradicate any incidents or potential incidents in the service. In addition provide improvement plans derived from an analysis of vulnerability in order to reduce risks and impact on service to so-called falls or degradation of performance in their field of activity, without that necessarily there have been incidents before (preventative model).
Making the management and interaction with third parties (manufacturers and internal application development/maintenance teams) to ensure resolution of issues in its field of activity, ensuring a correct alignment and coordination service levels established by client and is compliance-oriented.
Perform a correct documentation and change management ensuring no degradation of service, ensuring at all times the correct documentation of the configuration management database (CMDB), carrying out the necessary revisions to the correct alignment between the installed plant and the information in the CMDB.
Carry out the work of installation and migration, ensuring a proper design, construction and launch/change both deadlines and quality settings, ensuring at all times the degradation does not service the customer.
Support and operate platforms storage and SAN from EMC, Netapp and HP that support productive environments, development and testing, installed in the CPDs of the client. The operation includes management of requests and incidents and requests for information. For its part the support is responsible for configuration and administration, incident support, resolution of requests for Administration, monitoring, evolution, managing relationships with third parties, guards 24 x 7 service and maintenance, operating and development.
Assume new operational, automations and performance SAN and storage systems management.
Collaborate in the development of operational procedures related to the exploitation of the SAN and storage systems
Add/modify/delete storage for environments HOSTS. This activity involves all operations involving a new server to the current storage network include:
Add/modify/delete Switches and/or ports networked storage SAN (FC, FCoE)
Add/modify/delete files on NAS infrastructure services: shares, shares, etc...
Installation/uninstallation of high fiber availability management software
Installation, uninstallation and configuration of high availability Servers paths (eg PowerPath) management software.
Continuous monitoring of the State of health of managed infrastructure (reagent).
Continuous monitoring of the technical performance of managed infrastructure levels (preventive: performance and occupation).
Continuous maintenance of storage inventories, which must be constantly updated and available to the customer:
Maintenance continuous platform of software agents deployed on Servers with storage. Installation or upgrade of management (eg. software agents SRM in EMC technology) on the Servers connected to the storage network.
Ongoing maintenance of the generation of third backup and replication processes/remote Federation.
Ongoing maintenance of the periodic planning third backups, snapshots, clones, etc...
Weekly monitoring of service meetings, face-to-face format: review of outstanding issues, open incidents, requests, planning of interventions, etc...
Monthly (face-to-face) reporting full service activity: requests, incidents, technicians ANS, with full detail of types of the same and historical since the beginning of the service perspective
Detailed monthly (face-to-face) reporting of the status of all of the managed platform. All indicators should be presented with historical perspective since the beginning of the service.
