Description

Job Purpose:
The Vaccines Project Manager is responsible for development and management of project plans that result in integrated delivery of the project at or above the established quality, timeline and budget expectations in partnership with the VCTL/VDL/DAP Head/PL.
He/She will ensure appropriate planning and tracking of timelines, budget, resources, risks and scope, recommending alternative strategies to keep the project within thresholds or ensuring escalation to appropriate governing bodies if necessary.
The Vaccines Project Manager will develop true partnerships with the Vaccine Commercial Lead, Vaccine Development Leader, DAP Head and/or the Project Leader.
He/She is also accountable for
" Providing data for regular portfolio reviews
" Proactively communicating key information of the project (e.g. Decisions, milestones, actions, etc&) to all relevant stakeholders and to ensure documentation and archiving of project governance.
Accountabilities:
The VPM will, in partnership with the VCTs Leads/VDLs/DAP Heads/PLs and with appropriate support from VDT/PT members and departments:
" Develop and update required budgets and resources for execution of project in line with Development Strategy, ensure resource planning across all departments to deliver project plan.
" Drive execution, coordinate and track progress of project schedule(s) against agreed milestones, costs and resources across departments (e.g. Commercial, Clinical, Regulatory, R&D&.).
" Proactively identify deviations from schedule / budget and any other issues, evaluate options and implement optimal solutions within a defined timeframe through appropriate interactions with Project Team members and departmental PMs*
" Drive preparation for key decisions at appropriate governing bodies and/or escalate to governing bodies as required.
" Ensure identification of project risks and creation of risk register for the project with Project Team, manage the register on an on-going basis.
" Ensure relevant and timely communication around projects to relevant stakeholders, ensure that project planning information is accurate and up to date in corporate systems used to manage and report progress.
" Actively contribute to preparation of portfolio reviews and provide data related to project as required.
" Provide project management expertise and leadership that is consistently applied with PTs (including identification of management of critical path activities, timelines and associated budget), actively participate in initiatives around project management best practices and iPlan implementation and drive deployment of project management practises across PTs and departments.
Complexity:
" Highly complex and working across various matrix departments from VDD to GVCF (Global Vaccine Commercial Franchise) and GIO (Global Industrial Organisation).
" Ability to understand strategic project management processes and their impact on individual projects and respective programme as a whole, as well as on the various functions contributing to project milestones, and to integrate these into the development of risk analysis and alternative proposals.
Profile :
" University level, with appropriate PM methodology qualification or adequate PM experience (Life Sciences background would be beneficial).
" Understanding of the development phases of a vaccine (phases of clinical development, regulatory requirements, &).
" Analytical, logical thought process with strong information organisation/management skills.
" English / French.
