Description
An exciting opportunity for a financial accountant has arisen to join a leading bank In Bristol. The establishment known within the financial services for providing their employees with great career opportunities and fantastic work life balance.The purpose of the role is to assist and support in the preparation of monthly reporting, providing tight financial control over the balance sheet while mitigating risks to the P&L within the Insurance division. In addition, providing accurate and timely statutory reporting and preparation of regulatory returns as required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including detailed variance analysis and an ability to explain these movements
- Prepare year end subsidiary statutory accounts and assist with the external audit process
- Provide tight financial control over the Balance Sheet and mitigate any risks to the P&L account
- Ensure the successful delivery of the subsidiary financial statements on time and in accordance with internal policy and external deadlines, effectively reporting progress and escalating issues to line manager
- Identify and assist in the implementation of process changes to enhance efficiency
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- ACCA, ACA, CIMA, FCCA or equivalent
- Good track record of reporting under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Previous knowledge and experience of accounting requirements within the financial service industry
- Experience and knowledge of reporting to IFRS
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate issues to manager
- Past experience working within an Insurance firm
