Description

With 12 locations in seven states, our client is a leading national provider of data center solutions and fully managed services. They are the third largest data center provider in the US and provide core data center services - Custom Data Center, Colocation, and Cloud services. They own, operate, and maintain a dozen facilities encompassing over 3.1 million square feet including more than 1.5 million square feet of raised-floor space. They are currently seeking a Systems Support Analyst to join their team.

Qualifications

  • An understanding of Windows and Linux/Unix Server operating systems:
  • Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2008 R2, 2012
  • Red Hat Linux/CentOS Linux
  • Understanding of various services such as DNS, SMTP, SNMP, SSL and SSH
  • Experience with any of the following technologies is a plus:
  • Databases - MS SQL, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL
  • Virtualization Platforms - VMware, Citrix XEN, Microsoft Hyper-V
  • Web Server - IIS, Apache
  • SNMP Monitoring
  • Firm understanding of fundamental concepts of Operating Systems and system components: memory, CPU, Kernel, daemons, file system types, LVM, boot loader, drivers, swapping
  • Firm understanding and experience using OS systems tools, commands, utilities, monitoring applications, diagnostic tools, configuration management tools, and performance analysis tools
  • Hands on experience with VMware ESX, ESXi/vSphere, vCenter, vMotion, DRS, vCloud, and additional virtualization technologies and concepts
  • Preferred hands on experience configuring, testing, troubleshooting on Cisco UCS platforms including Cisco 6200 Fabric Interconnects, and Nexus 1K/2K/5Ks
  • Effective troubleshooting and analysis of individual systems and systems in distributed, enterprise environments
  • Ability to solve multi-faceted complex problems
  • Related technology certification preferred (MCSA/RHCT/SCSA/LPIC)
  • Server+, Network+, or Security+ certifications desirable
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience desirable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Credit checks are conducted for this role
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance
