Description
Infrastructure Engineer / VMware / Finance / London / Contract £300pdMy client is looking for an IT infrastructure engineer specialist who is able to work in a small/large teams facing off to the business on a daily basis. The role requires someone with a high level of independence, a self-starter with a can-do attitude and a desire to learn within a broad base of technologies focussed on Windows Server and VMware.
Successful candidate will have a University degree ideally IT based or related.
Ideally you will be an all-rounder and have had exposure or previous experience in dealing with Financial Institutions. Due to the size of the company you will need to be a self-starter, confident and good communicator. Writing and commercial reasoning skills will be important to the role. You must have first-class communication skills and client-facing skills.
Key Technical Skills and Experience:
- MS Windows Server (2012)
- VM Ware
- Active Directory
- Exchange Server Administration (2013)
- Proxy Server Administration
- SAN
- General Network Management (DNS, DHCP, TCI/IP, VPN, SNMP, SMTP) (5+ years)
- IIS, FTP, SFTP
- Windows desktop environments (5 years)
Desirable:
- Industry certification (VMWare VCP, Windows Server, NetApp, EMC etc)
- Windows Powershell experience
- BMC BladeLogic experience
- PowerCLI scripting (VMware)
- Datacentre Automation and Orchestration experience
- Storage (SAN & NAS) understanding
- Networking understanding
- OpenStack priciples and awareness
Qualifications:
- Degree in IT related field
- VMware VCP
