IT Infrastructure Project Manager - Gloucester - 12 Month ContractRole: Project Manager
Rate: £350-£400 per day dependant on experience
Start Date: Immediate
Location: Gloucester
Role Profile:
The IT Infrastructure Project Manager will successfully deliver a range of IT infrastructure related projects including data centre relocation and Wide Area Network (WAN) review, proactively managing all aspects of the project through the entire project lifecycle to deliver on time, within cost and to the required level of quality. They will actively participate in all phases and build a cohesive and successful project team. Realistic project plans will be prepared, progress tracked and risks and issues proactively managed. Regular reports will be provided to IT management and other stakeholders as required.
Requirements:
- General knowledge and understanding of IT infrastructure, systems and the systems development lifecycle;
- Specific experience of project managing data centre builds and/or relocations and replacement of multi-site MPLS WAN infrastructure. Experience of telecommunication systems including Cisco Call Manager technologies also highly desirable;
- Experience of project managing tendering third party IT service providers
- Training and practical experience applying the principles, methodologies, techniques and tools for effective project management from initiation to closure, such as PRINCE 2;
- Knowledge and practical experience of project planning methods and techniques including product / work break down structures, estimating techniques and critical path analysis;
- Possess strong leadership, stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence to gain successful outcomes, often with senior managers.
- Use of MS Project management software for scheduling, resource planning and progress tracking; and
- Use of Microsoft Office software specifically Microsoft Word, Excel and Visio for preparation of professional reports, diagrams and data analysis
- Knowledge and practical experience of IT Service Management principles, methodologies and techniques and tools such as ITIL v3 and Landesk;
Minimum Criteria:
1) 5 years IT project management experience to include IT infrastructure, networking and systems security related projects;
2) Prince 2 Practitioner or other relevant Project Management qualification (APMG, PMI etc);
3) ITIL Foundation or direct experience working within ITIL based IT service management organisations;
4) Must be vetted to SC level and must be re-vetted to the same level at required intervals;
5) Educated to degree level, equivalent standard or holds relevant professional qualification.
