Role: Senior Virtualisation & Storage EngineerDaily Rate: Negotiable
Location: South Dublin
Type: 6 month contract
A leading bank in Ireland is looking recruiting for a Senior Virtualisation and Storage Engineer for a 6 month contract. They are in the process of refreshing their Infrastructure with the configuration of SAN storage on VMware hosts, Windows servers and Veeam Backup servers.
Some of the day-to-day duties include:
- Provide Level-2 and Level-3 support as and where required.
- Produce high-quality documentation to support workarounds and/or resolutions to assist in knowledge transfer and efficiency.
- Monitor IT systems and react appropriately in the event of an incident
- Day-to-day administration and maintenance of SAN storage volume file system health checks and capacity monitoring.
- Installation and implementation of NAS storage units to network or device.
- Creation and administration of NAS storage shares, accounts and access rights.
- Day-to-day administration and maintenance of backup jobs, replications and backup repositories.
Required Skills:
- MCSA, MCP and/or CCNA certified
- Ideally over 7 years' experience working in a large enterprise environment
- Excellent Windows Server implementation & administration skills
- Expert knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy
- Good knowledge of Exchange 2010
- ADFS / Office 365 a bonus
- Excellent knowledge of network protocols and concepts
- Excellent knowledge of backup solutions and principles, Netbackup experience a bonus
- Excellent knowledge of monitoring technologies and principles. Preferably SCOM .
- Good knowledge of SCCM or other System Centre products a bonus
- Excellent Windows client OS skills - Windows XP, 7, 8.
- Virtual platform and technology experience is desirable
