MLROMLRO required to set up a compliance function for a UK branch of a well-established Swiss Private Bank. Branch location is the West End, London.
We are looking for someone with in depth experience of AML, account opening and cross border rules given the reach of front office staff and the geographic operations the private bank has. You will be fully aware of financial crime risks associated with the private banking activities.
As the MLRO you will be required to:
- set up the compliance policies and procedures
- coordinate and implement the standards of a European entity based on UK and European legislations.
- provide SME input for AML procedures around the account opening and transactions monitoring processes
- provide training on AML, market abuse and conflict of interest to all relevant business lines.
- ensure adherence to market rules and investor protection in a UK and International regulatory environment by developing a strong and robust internal control system.
- provide the board of directors with the status of how regulatory compliance is and can affect the UK private banking entity.
Additional language skills in German or French would be desirable.
This company has been around for well over 100 years and is seen as a prestigious Swiss Private Bank. This new London branch will be an exciting journey for the right MLRO. Given it is a new MLRO function, you will have a relatively blank canvass to work from and able to make it your own.
