A leading renewable energy client is looking for a Marine Operations Lead for one of its offshore wind projects, located off the East Coast of the UK. The role itself will be based at the firms HQ in the UK and is initially a six month contract with the distinct possibility of a long term extension. The successful Marine Operations Lead must be a Master Mariner and be able to start ASAP. He/she will be responsible for providing support to the General Site Manager and Offshore Site Manager on all construction phase Marine Operations.As the head of a team of dedicated marine logistic personnel, the Marine Operations Lead will hold day to day responsibility for the port and offshore field marine co-ordination activities.
The Marine Operations Lead duties will include, but, are not limited to;
- Management of a 24/7 Marine Co-ordination Centre
- Personnel management of a team of Marine co-ordinators
- Support all emergency management during construction phase
- Lead interface with marine management software package provider
- Act as principal advisor to project and package teams on marine operations assisting in the definition of work scopes and related topics
- Establish Marine Co-ordination procedures in line with relevant authority and legislative requirements ensuring best practice
- Direct co-ordination team in management of offshore access for both vessels and personnel
- Conduct vessel audits/suitability surveys
- Chairing/co-ordinating daily site management meetings with all relevant data, issuing relevant reports to the team and providing input to the monthly project report
- Master Mariner status
- Significant experience operating at Marine Operations Lead or Senior Marine Coordinator level
- Experience of personnel management
- Radio Operator certification
- Working offshore certifications
- Vessel auditing qualification
