CASS Risk Manager - Banking
Canary Wharf - 6 months

My client is a global financial services company focused on helping clients manage and service their financial assets, operating in 35 countries and serving more than 100 markets. The bank is a leading provider of financial services for institutions, corporations and high-net-worth individuals, providing superior asset management and wealth management, asset servicing, issuer services, clearing services and treasury services through a worldwide client-focused team.

The CASS Risk Manager primary role is to act in an advisory/oversight capacity to Business and Operations which are subject to CASS Regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
* Provide CASS Risk specific direction and support to Senior Risk Managers, Business Management and Operations Team Leaders.
* Provide direction and support to EMEA Legal Entities and locations outside the UK with CASS or equivalent client asset considerations
* In conjunction with Compliance, provide ongoing advice and direction around the CASS framework adopted by the Business/Operations and the impact of changes to processes.
* Drive the development of and ensure establishment of CASS Risk metrics by Business and Operations and Legal Entities as appropriate.
* Provide daily oversight of the CASS metrics output
* Challenge Business/Operations Management to ensure appropriate remediation action has been taken where issues have been identified
* Provide reporting and escalation of CASS Risk issues including to the CASS Governance Committees and to Senior Governance Committee within the region, as appropriate
* Act as the primary risk management representative in all CASS related matters including projects to ensure that any changes to operating models are fully assessed from a risk perspective
* Represent Risk management at CASS Risk Governance committees
* Attendance will be required at internal senior management committees to provide input and commentary specific to CASS risk issues/challenges, as appropriate.
* Remain informed of all new EMEA wide market and regulatory initiatives with respect to Client Assets and review for any emerging risks and issues.
* Provide input to and Deliver CASS Risk Governance training
* This role supports our ongoing compliance with Regulatory requirements around Client Assets. Role initially impacts the UK and our CASS requirements but the remit will extend to any location in the EMEA region client assets requirements exist. Therefore the role may require some travel.

Requirements
* In-depth CASS experience
* Detailed understanding of Custody Operations/Banking, Transfer Agency and other Operations impacted by CASS Rules
* An excellent understanding of CASS regulatory requirements
* A good general knowledge of the financial services industry and its regulations and laws.
* Previous risk management experience including the development of metrics and providing risk management oversight over business processes.
* Proven track record of managing and delivering a risk based projects.
* Experience of dealing with and presenting to senior management.
* Knowledgeable on good governance practices
* Proven track record of managing and delivering a risk based projects.
* Problem Solving: The ability to build a logical approach to resolve problems or manage the situation at hand by drawing on own knowledge and experience and calling on other references and resources as necessary.
* Project Management/process change management skills
* Conceptual Thinking: The ability to identify patterns or connections between situations that are not obviously related and to determine key underlying issues in complex situations.
* Work Quality: The ability to demonstrate attention to detail to achieve quality results.
* Planning and Organising: The ability to establish a systematic course of action for self or others to ensure consistent accomplishment of specific objectives. The ability to multi task and balance priorities whilst managing a number of competing demands on schedule
* Analytical Thinking: The ability to analyse large amounts of complex information, to identify and present the key issues in a persuasive way and develop strategies to resolve.

Qualifications and Training
* Degree Educated, preference for accountancy or financial services related
* Additional professional qualifications
