Senior Desktop Support Engineer
Skills: Windows 7, PC AND MAC, Printers, Basic Networking, Virtual Desktop (VDT) such as Citrix, Excellent Customer Service skills and forward thinking/project management skills
Summary:
IMMEDIATE CONTRACT opportunity (potential for perm); intown location. The ideal candidate for this position will possess a broad range and depth of Windows desktop and server support, and will have attained a combination of education, experience (and possibly certifications) that attest to the skills and experience required.
Responsibilities:
- Experienced strong customer service, personal initiative, and a strong work ethic.
- Experience with Networking: TCP/IP, -Base-T Switches, Routers, Operating Systems: Windows 2000 and Above;
- Experience with Core Applications: MS Office Suite, Remedy, Microsoft Outlook, Adobe Creative suite, McAfee antivirus, and more;
- Experience with Core Hardware: Servers/Desktops/Laptops, Printers/Plotters, Traditional ISA/PCI architecture Intel Based Machines, PC BIOS and architecture, Windows Domains and Active Directories
- Experience with PC storage subsystems and media technology: Hard drives, floppy drives, CD ROM's, USB storage devices; Printer and print server installation, configuration and maintenance.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of Sr. Desktop support and Customer Service Skills
- Windows 2007
- PC AND MAC experience (environment is currently 70/30)
- Utilized Virtual Desktop (VDT) previously (Citrix a plus)
- A + Certification or IT education related degree
- Ability to take and understand direction from remote support personnel.
- Advanced Support Skills (Level III) including Active Directory/Exchange and Ghost/Imaging a plus
- Academic, University OR Healthcare experience a plus
