Description

IMMEDIATE HIRE for a Data Center Transformation Portfolio Lead! This is a long-term contract position with the work able to be done remotely (preference is for Toronto area residents) and if required, must be willing to work out of a local office. Qualified individual will assist to transform our client's Data Centers by consolidating high-cost, end-of-life, or redundant Data Centers into strategic locations. This role requires an individual who will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the team's activities to manage and implement project and/or interrelated projects from contract/proposal initiation to final operational stage.

DUTIES
Partner with various business units establishing project teams and providing overall direction for the designated Data Center closure.
Manage project teams consisting of members from multiple groups and locations across all sites in the Americas and act as a mentor to all team members.
Ensure program funding guidelines are well understood by all key stakeholders and support the program and project managers with communicating the funding guidelines and manage escalations and issues that may arise from lack of clarity and understanding of program funding rules.
Partner with the Data Center Transformation Global Lead to guide the program and project managers through migration methodologies.
Support the Project Managers to perform project estimation, budget management, formulate project delivery strategies, establish milestones/schedules, maintain and report project status, and monitor progress of all team members.
Support the Project Managers by participating in discussions to prioritize projects and be accountable for bringing project to delivery on time, within budget and scope.
Ensure adherence to legally binding requirements.
Controls project requirements, scope, and Change Management issues.
Establish appropriate metrics for measuring key project criteria.
Install appropriate automated systems for management of projects.
Develop, propose, and negotiate project proposals, quotations, and add-ons to leadership and the client.
Analyze needs and recommend appropriate planning concepts and tools to be used for all facets of planning, scheduling, and tracking projects.
Analyze project progress/costs and facilitate the development of recommended alternatives.
Integrate and utilize Project Management methodologies.
Create communication plans, ensuring that appropriate information is exchanged among key stakeholders including the customer.
Advise Senior Management on Project Management capability and risk.
Maintain awareness on emerging technologies and Project Management techniques.

REQUIRED
Minimum 7 to 10 years Program Management experience in Data Center Migration projects.
Ability to manage work across multiple time zones within North America.
Ability to work under highly stressful environments and stringent deadlines.
Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills to include MS Project.
Must be able to travel if required.
Evening and weekend work required on occasion for Project roll-outs.
