Core-Asset Consulting's client, a global financial services organisation in Edinburgh, has an exciting new opportunity available for a Global Pension Risk Project Manager to join their business on a 12 month initial basis.

The purpose of the role is to provide support in the shaping and stewardship of the pension risk management infrastructure of the firm and to champion effective risk and capital management of pension risk. This is done by maintaining and developing assessment and control mechanisms, managing key projects and liaising with key stakeholders across the globe.


Core responsibilities:
  • Support in project managing the regulatory stress testing exercises.
  • Drive UAT for new tool PFaroe in 4 jurisdictions.
  • Be responsible for monthly risk map reporting to the Risk Management Committees.
  • Be responsible for maintaining of compliance with Volcker, FATCA and Common Reporting Standards.
  • Be the lead on Global Pension Risk and Control Assessments.
  • Perform Vendor Risk Assessment/management periodically.
  • Be the contact for Business Records Management.
  • Be the lead on the BCBS data programme for pension risk.
  • Be responsible for obtaining appropriate sites' attestations on meeting Global Standards related to Pension Risk (eg those set out in Pension Risk FIM for both DB and DC schemes).
  • Lead license renewals of PFaroe with RiskFirst.
  • Create and maintain a Sharepoint for Global Pension Risk.
  • Project manage the various regulatory stress tests.
  • Project manage any projects related to the PFaroe platform, its license renewal process, UAT of new models etc.
  • Lead control function liaison, as well as vendor risk assessment, data programme etc.
  • Engage regularly with global pension contacts as well as our main vendor, RiskFirst - this will include colleagues in HR, Finance and Risk.

Core requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree in a numerate subject, such as Mathematics, Economics, Business Administration, Finance or a related field. Ability to understand the firm's overall business and culture
  • Pension risk management desirable
  • Management of many processes/project simultaneously, cross team/border projects
  • Experience of risk management processes
  • Experience of working in ALM/Capital Management/Finance/Audit function an advantage
  • Full knowledge of the Microsoft Office product suite and Lotus Notes a plus
  • Understanding of UK pension regulatory requirements & developments and challenges faced by the pension system an advantage
  • Understanding of PRA/EBA stress testing an advantage
  • Experience with platform PFaroe an advantage
