Description

A large construction company will be constructing a new dual carriageway, nine new roundabouts, seven new bridges, an underpass and one grade separated junction which will align two transport axes at different heights. The new 19.6km dual carriageway will run from the A1067 Fakenham Road at the East Postwick Hub to the west (A47) which sits at the edge of Norwich Airport.

A Site Engineer is required to undertake Site Engineering control and implementation of works on site, including monitoring and reporting of progress. Data Collection through on-site records (diary, photographs, file notes). Monitoring of Budget (including labour and plant in use in their section)

  • Holds a current driving license and CSCS Card
  • Must be a good team player, with strong communication and interpersonal skills

Health Safety & Environmental

  • Understands Permit to Dig System
  • Environmental awareness

Engineering Control

  • Setting out techniques - ability to use level & EDM, plus GPS
  • Able to report issues with control and information provided

Quality

  • Reads and understands drawings and schedules
  • Understands Activity Control Plans and production of resultant information for handover file
  • Strong understanding of construction tolerances
  • Awareness and use of Specification and other Contract documents
  • Able to produce detailed documentation for handover of completed works

Productivity

  • Able to take off and schedule material quantities accurately

Commercial

  • Knowledge of specification and contract documents
  • Understands what constitutes additional works
