New oppertunity for a Finance Manager at a top tier bank in Bristol. The team are looking for a high skilled technical accountant to join the Insurance Finance divsion in the, Life, Pensions and Investments Reporting Team. CONTRACT: 6 MONTHS
LOCATION: BRISTOL
RATE: £450 PER DAY
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supporting the team with development work in relation to future IFRS changes, with a short term focus on IFRS 9
- Supporting the team responding to ad hoc queries from the business relating to reporting requirements (both statutory and regulatory) and wider business initiatives (e.g. provision of technical and reporting advice into project and product reporting treatment documentation)
- Providing support to the business in relation to preparation for regular industry body fora (e.g. CFO Forum)
- Building good relationships with colleagues across the wider Finance and Actuarial reporting teams
- Development and finalisation of pro-forma financial statements for 2015 year end accounts
- Month end journal posting, monthly analytical review and completion of controls. Initiating, leading and performing investigations to ensure that movements in the month end numbers can be explained
KEY SKILLS
- IFRS accounting and reporting (either from audit or industry)
- Qualified accountant
- Ideally good understanding of PRA Returns reporting requirements and Solvency II reporting requirements
- Insurance background or experience
- Financial service or banking experience is ESSENTIAL
- Excellent questioning and probing ability to support understanding business requirements and outcomes sought
- Willingness to investigate and curiosity to understand concepts and process
