Description

Summary
  • Under minimal supervision, trains in and performs maintenance operations requiring multiple technical skills.
  • This would include preventative maintenance, diagnosing problems and making repairs.
  • Monitor building mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems for proper function and operation.
  • Perform basic repairs and with some direction and scheduling from the Facility Manager and Maintenance Planner Scheduler.
  • Monitor building equipment including electrical generator, steam generator, air compressor, and walk-in coolers for proper function and operation.
  • Monitor and Maintain, environmental systems, and Poultry rearing equipment, which include belted conveyor systems, feed mixers, and various types of pumps and pumping systems.
  • Install new equipment and perform routine maintenance and basic repairs as necessary.
  • Record, calculate, and maintain detailed records of maintenance and equipment parameters in accordance with QA policies.
  • Follow all policies and procedures
  • Apply all safety and precautionary procedures pertaining to assignments.
  • Lead, research, evaluate needs and or modifications required to improve/maintain facility equipment.
  • The ability to troubleshoot manufacturing and facility equipment when issues arise.
  • Support the building's security system.
  • Assist in performing safety inspections.
  • Work with Safety Officer to eliminate and reduce safety issues.
SKILLS:

Qualifications
  • Two year post high school (technical) and 3 years in a maintenance enabling environment, or equivalent.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and overtime.
  • Competency in PC applications, such as Word, Excel and databases.
  • Knowledge of motors, gear motors, gear boxes, and various drive and power transmission systems.
  • Understand and repair hydraulic and pneumatic delivery systems and associated equipment.
  • Electrical: Knowledge of controls related to the operation of cooling and heating systems, electrical switchgear and electrical motors.
  • The troubleshooting of motors and electrical systems.
  • Ability to install conduit.
  • Knowledge of PLC's is a plus.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs and work in a warm temperatures in a standing position for moderate lengths of time.
