Description

We are looking for a qualified Management Accountant/Financial Analyst or Financial Controller to join a market-leading Aerospace and Defence company on a 12 month contract.

Primary Purpose of the Role:

  • Manage the Shared Service reporting team
  • Ensure all month-end reporting deadlines are met for ISR & DMS UK and reporting packages are submitted accurately & efficiently
  • Maintain a close relationship with internal stakeholders, acting as a coach/finance partner as necessary
  • Ensure adequate review of balances sheet/GL reconciliations at that balances are fully understood and any differences dealt with accordingly;
  • Ensure strategic financial information for the ISR/DMS UK is controlled and co-ordinated
  • Be accountable for accurate, timely and reliable financial information with supporting analysis & commentary for BOR and other reporting phases
  • Be accountable for the integrity of all information provided through suitable internal controls and reviews, in accordance with all accounting requirements and statutory compliance
  • Provision of regular, or ad hoc, financial reports & management accounts in line with Group and UK reporting requirements

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Lead the provision of financial reports & management accounts for ISR UK, including commentary and analysis as may be requested, in line with Group and UK reporting requirements
  • Oversight and control of all Magnitude reporting for ISR & DMS UK (Com, A, F, OCF, MB, MYB, CbN etc) ensuring accurate & complete submissions.
  • Oversight and control of CbN reporting in TM1, ensuring reconciliation to Magnitude at all times
  • Preparation of monthly BoR packs for ISR & DMS UK
  • Ensure the integrity of reported financial information through suitable internal controls, review and compliance with statutory and group accounting principles
  • Lead the compliance and development of internal controls to satisfy company ICQ
  • Identify, lead and implement change initiatives to improve delivery, internal controls and departmental effectiveness
  • Escalate risks & opportunities quickly and to the appropriate management level
  • Play a full part in the annual MYB (Multi-Year Budget) process - develop and maintain effective mechanisms for the preparation of annual budgets & estimates and for the production of realisable financial forecasts
  • Maintain the principle budget tool - the Datasim packs.
  • Provide re-forecasts of financial results as required (incl PL, BS, Cash, WCR/OCR as necessary)
  • Prepare the annual tax packs, Statutory Accounts and annual Insurance questionnaires
  • Lead reviews with the businesses of PL and BS, and ensure all corrective action is taken to resolve issues
  • Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are performed on a timely basis, and corrective actions are taken to resolve issues.
  • Ensure costs are understood, controlled, challenged and communicated to Domains as part of their re-charge schedule
  • Ensure cost centre reviews are held in accordance with the companies cost centre process.
  • Assist in the implementation of IT tools and reporting techniques
  • Ensure all departmental deadlines & commitments are honoured
  • Liaise with Internal & External auditors
  • Ensure as far as the role dictates that financial affairs are conducted in accordance with Group Principles & processes
  • Maintain an ethical approach to business in line with the companies Ethics Policy

Experience:

  • Experience in a Finance role in a complex Matrix organisation with multiple customers
  • Financial governance, reporting & technical accounting background
  • Strong MS Excel skills & use of IT tools
  • Evidence of having identified changes & improvements to processes and/or tasks and seen those through to implementation
