CISSP/CISM, knowledge of security principals and practice,
The purpose of this role is to be responsible for assisting in IT project, IT security compliance and business-as-usual IT security support activities related to end customer's Defence business requirements.
Specific duties will include to provide a general IT Security support capability with task assignment, priorities and work management directed by the IT Security Compliance Specialist Defence in response to Defence business and Global IT demands, IT Security support to IT project delivery programmes which may include assisting in the identification of system security requirements, security testing plans, security approvals, prepare IT security supporting documentation, process and procedures for the end customer's peer review and approval, support internal and external compliance and audit requirements against the end customer or government policy requirements, assist with business-as-usual queries and requests related to IT Security, act as point of contact on IT Security matters, provide IT Security advice and guidance to business users on risk reduction and security awareness, consulting appropriately with the end customer's IT Security Team, assist in the identification and reporting of IT Security Risks and Concessions and review and approve change and Firewall requests seeking guidance from more experienced or specialised practitioners as required
Candidates should have a broad baseline knowledge of IT Security principles and practice demonstrated by attainment of (or progress towards) appropriate qualification or certification eg CISSP/CISM etc. The should also have a good overall knowledge of information systems practice, technology landscape and applications. Previous experience working in a government/defence/defence industry environment is preferred as is some knowledge and understanding of government/defence IT security compliance requirements eg HMG SPF, Government Security Classifications, Accreditation and similar.
