Description

Key Duties

  • Provide day to day Fund Services support.
  • Liaise with other operational areas, internal clients and external parties on matters relating to day to day operations.
  • To assist the Team Leader through implementing changes to working practices and procedures so as to improve individual/team performance and efficiency and reduce operational risk.
  • To build and develop good working relationships between the team and its internal/external clients and suppliers.
  • To liaise with operational areas and external parties in undertaking the above.
  • Report on and escalate issues or problems which fall outside agreed service standards.
  • To develop a good understanding of all role requirements for both Institutional and Retail (Bonds and Equities) funds.

Responsibility

  • Review of working papers for SORP accounts and the published Report and Accounts booklet produced by the TPA for over 100 funds, ensuring they are accurate and delivered to timetable.
  • Review of Income Distribution Calculations for the funds ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Monitor supplier performance by way of key performance indicators and specific service review meetings.
  • Monitor the audit process for assigned funds and escalate any issues accordingly
  • Liaise with and develop relationships with the TPA, Trustees, auditors and internal departments.
  • Additional ad hoc tasks include reviewing ongoing charges, capped OCF's

Essential Skills

  • 'A' Levels or equivalent
  • Is fully conversant with all major aspects within a specific field of Financial Services Operations. Would be in a position to provide advice and guidance to more junior members of staff. Typically would require 3-4 years experience within the field to achieve this level.
  • Strong technical accounting skills and good unit trust/OEIC knowledge and UK GAAP fund accounting experience.
  • Must be a good team player and be willing to help others when necessary.
  • Must be able to manage their own time effectively without much supervision, be able to multi task and prioritise appropriately whilst adhering to deadlines.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal and written skills and have the ability to explain involved concepts in a clear and concise manner to others within the organisation
